Everyone wears a bikini-us girls love bikinis, especially me!The whole world loves bikinis-
since when do we adapt to the rest of the world?
I think a lot of negative points could come out of this-
1) Face it-some Maltese men are a bit disgusting,one look at a girl in a bikini could drive them bonkers.You're probably saying- so what,its not like I know him..but you know what?god does...god loves that guy,so aren't we supposed to love him to?

2) If wearing short skirts..half tops etc., are wrong because we're giving our body so easily...then what makes a piece of material covering our parts so different?what makes it ok?aren't we god's beautiful temple?...

3) Going back to the origin of these points- adapting to the world...I mean since when do we adapt to the rest of the world?If we're supposed to be different in everything else, why do we "give in" when it comes to swimming?what if God prefers us covering up a bit more...if Jesus was at the beach with us,would we feel 100% comfortable to walk around in our bikini?
It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
When I planned this, did I do it lightly? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say, "Yes, yes" and "No, no"?

4) People with insecurities-does being surrounded by nicer figures on show affect the way they feel about themselves?If yes, why should we be the cause of this effect?why should we sometimes be judged by how we look in a bikini?
No quote for this..but before I make my way to my bed,just wanted to remind you, I'm not calling you bad Christians if you swim in a bikini..I mean I do myself.This is all new to me and I'm just sharing it with you guys.
And lovely guy friends,I'm not throwing botti to anyone ok? I'm so proud to have guy friends like you,and I couldn't ask for better friends,honestly...

this made me think so much, its true like what u said abt leading them into sin, so thanks for pointing it out :) we have to help one another :)
...which is why i bought a swimsuit this year. Kinda backfired tho, cos it always ended up rising from the lower end and exposing more anyway xD So I stopped wearing it cos it made me uncomfortable.
But yes, i thought abt it at the beginning of summer. This(next) year, I'll get a bikini tho, just one that i feel comfy and relaxed in, that wont make me conscious etc etc. Cos I think, if i'd be comfy in it i wouldnt rly mind Jesus being there. I mean, He made me - He knows what i look like in a bikini and in eighteen layers of clothes :P
hmm we discussed this already last night :) I'd rly like to know wat God thinks of bikinis..
i think wat we all need to keep in mind is that if we do chose to wear a bikini.. we make sure its decent and not over do it like.. and thinking abt it now.. i think it also depends on how u act while ur wearing a bikini.. like we have to be more careful of the way we sit..lie down etc..

Ok so here I comment before I go to bed. :). I did promise after all.
I think that a lot of the points you've made make sense, like a lot of sense in the context you're putting them in.
1)this one is the one I agree with most, and in fact I had actually thught about this once.
2)kind of same here,
3) hmm, I think as rachie said, it all depends on how you behave yourself and how skimpy/revealing the bikini actually is. some full-suits can be just as revealing as bikinis with all the cuts and funny holes they've got all over the place.
4)If you look good in a bikini wear one ey, I mean people with insecurites about their figure are being bombarded from all corners of their lifes and therefore someones choice on bikini or not shouldn't really depend on what others might feel, cause indeed they might not after all feel inseecure.
I personally think I do not have the figure for a bikini and in fact had worn a full swim suit or tankini till last year, when I decided uwijja let me buy one. I personally feel more comfortable in a swimsuit, not just cause of how I look but also because I didn't have to constantly make sure I was not revealing anything etc. However I don't get bummed by girls in bikini, we all have our assets, some people have the perfect bikini figures and some others don't, so just cause I see someone elsein a bikini I'm not going to stay thinking eee out of respect to me she shouldn't have worn it. bu maybe that's just me :)
something I would like to add, in the following situation I think it is disrespectful to wear a bikini, (experience speaking).
i) when I went to Naples this year to do voluntary work, we knew we'd be working with sisters, i.e. nuns, and we also knew we'd be working with kids, and also that we'd be taking them to the beach at least 2 times a week. So the girls of the group took the decision to take up a full swim suit, #1 out of respect to the sisters who are always in their saris.#2 because we were obviously working with kids and could not afford having to make sure we weren't beiong indecent.
anyways we were very thankful we took that decision when we saw the italian helpers in bikinis constantly worrying about whether they were going to be pulled off by the kids. hehe
hmmm not too sure on the clarity of my points.

i agree like with what all of u said coz like if its not that revealing aye its nb... plus its true some swimsuits are much more revealing, i also agree with elaine ax it depends how u act, if ur gna stay bending down in front of every guy there is to show everything aye its one thing then trying ur best like to cover up jew leaving it all lose u ekk or els if someone is gna stay taking off the thing at the back when they lie down, ma jrdux xej biex they forget or something so i think it all depends on these things like, very interestin post amy

i agree wid wat dese ppls have said :) i think this applies not only to bikinis but also to other clothes.. so yeah, good post am!! really needed it to open up our eyes, especially to us girls!
